M&M's birthday is next month and in the past I've just gotten her regular toys, but this year I want to get her something educational and to use as a tool for Tot School. I want to know what some of your children's favorite toys are that they play with a lot and keeps them busy. I'm thinking about Melissa and Doug things, but there are so many to choose from.
Thank you!
Miss O will be 3 this summer too! I got her the Melissa and Doug doorbell dollhouse, but unfortunately it's not being sold anymore (I got mine on ebay). It's basically a little wooden house with four doors and a key that fits in each door. Behind each door is a little wooden doll. Search around, you might be able to find one--Miss O loves dolls, so this was the perfect educational toy to catch her interest. I also saw a lot of great educational toys recently at the oriental trading company website, you might want to check it out too. I am really fond of the M and D latch board, which has all different kinds of latches for them to experiment with, and also the basic skills board (buttoning, snaps, etc). I know Miss O is really into pretend, so maybe some felt food from etsy or some career or multicultural dress up clothing? Hope that helps! And Happy Birthday M&M!
ReplyDeleteI'm responding to your question about the mystery bag game. I actually found it at a consignment shop and I haven't seen it online anywhere but that may be because I have no idea what it is really called. It is made by Guidecraft though. My daughter also has the M&D latch board Jennifer wrote about and she uses it a lot. She turned 3 in March and one of the gifts was M&D slice and bake cookies that are a great tot school toy. They have different patterns on the cookies and there are opportunities for counting and color recognition too. Plus, they make a fun addition to her kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you still need ideas but we use the activity in a bags for preschool alot you could make them
